Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 600 ml tomato sauce
  • 130 g feta cheese
  • 100 g onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 40 ml olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 pinch ground black pepper
  • 10 fresh basil leaves

Place the caraway seeds, paprika, cumin, turmeric, oregano, salt, and pepper into the mixing bowl and mill for 1 min./speed 10.

Add the garlic and onion and chop for 3 sec./speed 7.

Add 20 ml of olive oil and cook for 3 min./100°C/speed 1.

Add the tomato sauce and cook for 15 min./100°C/speed .

Add the basil leaves and cook for 5 min./100°C/reverse/speed 1.

Heat a heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat and add the remaining 20 ml of olive oil. Once the pan is hot, add the tomato sauce, crack the eggs directly into the tomato sauce without stirring, then sprinkle crumbled feta on top.

Reduce the heat to medium and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes. Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil and cook for an additional 3–5 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking. Serve immediately with fresh crusty bread on the side.
